Do Success Secrets Really Exist?

Absolutely! Here's a short list of traits or "secrets" that successful people use to reach their goals. No one principle here will catapult you to amazing achievements, but when combined, you'll be unstoppable.

1) Can you really think and grow rich?

Think and Grow Rich is one of my favorite success books of all time but let's face it, you can't think and grow rich. But thinking in a positive light about what you want to accomplish, combined with these other traits, is a powerful tool for becoming as successful as you'd like.

And if you've read Napoleon Hill's book, you know he doesn't recommend sitting around thinking about being rich. Most definitely not. If you've never read Think and Grow Rich, you must do so. Or grab a copy of The Science of Personal Achievement Audio program by Napoleon Hill. It will change your life.

2) Take Responsibility for Your Actions.

This has become a lost art in today's culture of 'blame everyone else for everything wrong in your life' but the cold hard fact is that no one is responsible for what you do or don't do but you.

Yes, bad things happen beyond our control. But how we react to those things is completely under our control. Don't let yourself use excuses as a crutch for not fulfilling your promises and potential.

3) Focus, Focus, Focus!

Don't let other people or things distract you from what you want to accomplish with your life. Go for it and let nothing stand in your way.

4) Get Educated.

Never stop learning. Go back to school, read books, listen to audio tapes, get training and acquire the skills you need to reach your goals.

5) Be Persistent and Work Hard.

Success is not a sprint. Success is not easy. Don't bale out on your goals. Too many people give up before they get where they want to go. Don't be that person!

6) Write Down Your Goals.

You gotta do this. Figure out your goals, write them down, develop a plan to reach those goals and then TAKE ACTION on that plan!

7) Take Action! Take Action! Take Action!!

This is last on the list but most important in your success. Without action, absolutely NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!

Where is your action?

What have you done today to get you closer to your goals?

Have you been forgoing taking responsibility for your own actions, and letting excuses keep you from achievement?

What are you going to do differently, starting RIGHT NOW, that will have you taking action on a persistent, consistent basis?

If you aren't seeing the results you want, I'd wager that a lack of action is the problem. The first six "secrets" on this list are 100% worthless without a lot of number seven. You gotta take action! And you gotta do it all the time!

Put together a "plan of action" so that you can immediately implement the strategies.

You will not be successful unless you TAKE ACTION and apply the things that you learn. Make a commitment to yourself to set aside the time you need to take action on the things that will make you successful.

When you combine taking action along with techniques on how to use the laws of attraction your success will skyrocket.

What's your action today?

Tips on Saving Money

Going hand and hand with an effective household budget is saving money on those things that you truly need. To start saving, take an inventory of your needs to see where you can shave the dollars. Begin with the biggest items first, where the most potential for savings is, and move down the scale to the less expensive items. A moderate savings on one of the big items (houses and cars) combined with savings on the smaller items (food, clothes, etc.) can reap a large reward in your total budget. The following are some thought starters:

General Tips

Distinguish between Wants and Needs: You will save a ton of money if you don't mistake wants for needs. Needs are pretty simple to identify--those items that are necessary to sustain: Shelter, food, clothing, transportation. Wants are those things that enhance or possibly improve our family life. A car is a need. Unless necessary for your business, a $40,000 Sport Utility Vehicle is a want, even if a lot of people don't see it that way. Have you ever heard (or said) "I absolutely need...?" when the actual meaning was "I really want?" This is not to suggest that you shouldn't be able to have the things you want--only that to delude yourself into believing that a want is a need--and busting your budget in the process--is a recipe for financial disaster.

Is less better? Perhaps it was due to the booming economy, perhaps "keeping up with the Joneses", maybe its ego, but for many of us, we often seem to insist on the biggest and the best, no matter what the cost. When a $15,000 new car may be more than acceptable, we stretch the seams of our budget to afford a $25,000 vehicle. We buy $25 shirts with $35 designer labels attached. We opt for the $100 dinner at the trendy restaurant when a $20 meal would have been just as delicious. Think about where you are spending the family money--and how--to see if there couldn't be savings found with minor changes in habits.

Try before you Buy: This goes a long way in helping to avoid the silly purchases of things you rarely or never use. Before you buy something, especially items with big price tags, borrow one, rent one or try one out before you plunk down the cash. If you are bored with it, or determine that it truly is not something you need before you buy it (and you will be on a certain percentage of items) you will definitely be bored with it, or find it not that necessary, after! Example: You feel that you absolutely must have a new Jet-Ski, at a cost of $4500 (and that is before financing and taxes). You go to the lake, rent one, and 45 minutes into a one hour rental you are saying, "geez, this is a long hour." Saved: More than $4500 (perhaps a year of college fees for the kid!)

BIOETHANOL

Bioethanol Production
It seems that Biodiesel has been getting all the press recently leaving Bioethanol largely unexplained and feeling somewhat left out. The Biodiesel hype is making it look like the blooming gorgeous flowers of the go-green garden, but it would be wise to also take note of the other Earth-savers of this bunch, like Bioethanol for example. After a question that was posted on our forum, I have decided to dedicate a page to explaining the production and use of Bioethanol

What is Bioethanol
The principle fuel used as a petroleum substitute is bioethanol. Bioethanol is mainly produced by the sugar fermentation process, although it can also be produced by the chemical process of reacting ethylene with steam. The main source of sugar required to produce ethanol comes from fuel or energy crops. These fuel crops are normally grown specifically for energy use and include maize, corn and wheat crops, waste straw, willow, sawdust, reed canary grass, cord grasses, jerusalem artichoke, myscanthus and sorghum plants. There is also ongoing research and development into the use of municipal solid wastes to produce ethanol fuel.
Brazil and the United States account for over 70 percent of all ethanol production in the world today with the USA producing an estimated 6,500 Million gallons a year

How Bioethanol is made
The basic steps for large scale production of ethanol are: fermentation of sugars, distillation, dehydration and denaturing (optional). Prior to fermentation, some crops require saccharification or hydrolysis of carbohydrates such as cellulose and starch into sugars. Saccharification of cellulose is called cellulolysis (see cellulosic ethanol). Enzymes are used to convert starch into sugar.

Fermentation
Ethanol is produced by microbial fermentation of the sugar. Microbial fermentation will currently only work directly with sugars. Two major components of plants, starch and cellulose, are both made up of sugars, and can in principle be converted to sugars for fermentation. Currently, only the sugar (e.g. sugar cane) and starch (e.g. corn) portions can be economically converted. However, there is much activity in the area of cellulosic ethanol, where the cellulose part of a plant is broken down to sugars and subsequently converted to ethanol.

Distillation For the ethanol to be usable as a fuel, water must be removed. Most of the water is removed by distillation. The purity is limited to 95-96% due to the formation of a low-boiling water-ethanol azeotrope. This may be used as fuel alone but unlike anhydrous ethanol it is immiscible in Petrol meaning it can not be mixed i.e. E85. The water fraction is typically removed in further treatment in order to burn with in combination with petrol in petrol engines.
DehydrationCurrently, the most widely used purification method is a physical absorption process using a molecular sieve, for example, ZEOCHEM Z3-03 (a special 3A molecular sieve for EtOH dehydration). Another method, azeotropic distillation, is achieved by adding the hydrocarbon benzene which also denatures the ethanol (to render it undrinkable for duty purposes). A third method involves use of calcium oxide as a desiccant.

Can I produce Bioethanol at home?
There are many people producing Bioethanol at home for their own use. Many people opt for a home made "still" for the production process however obtaining a consistant proof can be very hard for most inexperienced producers.

The market
Biothanol Processors is not like the highly competitive Biodiesel market, I believe that this is due to the fact that many of todays cars are still not capable of running a Bioethanol Mix i.e. E85 for day to day use.
